Opposition parties are the political parties that occupy the opposition benches of the Parliament. These parties do not form the main government of the country, but have a say in the formation of the laws and order of the state. Their opinion on certain policies is important.

In my opinion, opposition parties are important for the following reasons:

(i) They indicate towards a healthy democratic system of governance.

(ii) It allows to promote new ideas and concepts of governance.

(iii) It allows political movement in the country.

(iv) Concept of competition is present which makes all political parties to conduct developmental work.

Oppositions parties should stand for the people.

They have to identify the mistakes that are happening in the government and should take necessary steps to fight with the ruling party about these mistakes.

They are the people's representatives who are entitled to question the people in the ruling party.

Literally they are the voice of public
