why is the salinity at the equator less even though it experience high temperature?

At this point sea ice melts and gets into the water bodies to  make the water in the sea more saline .

Another thing is that evaporation is high while and there is low amount of precipitation salinity thus the water at the water bodies on this point are relatively low .The timely increase in the amount of water volumes is also triggered by the fact that this region is usually so cloudy and tigers rainfall through out the year .
