Series connection is not use in domestic circuits, because it does not provide equal potential difference across the circuit. In a parallel circuit, each appliance can have different current, which is not possible in a series circuit. In a series circuit, if a appliance breaks then the entire circuit will break. In Series connection, there is only a single switch to allow the flow of current.
