why is the series arrangement not used for domestic circuits

Explanation:

In series circuits, all electrical switches will have common switch due to which they cannot be turned off/On separately. ---> Overall resistance of circuit will increase due to which the current from power supply will be less. Hence we prefer Parallel Circuits for domestic wiring.

Series Arrangements are not used for domestic purposes because :-

In series combination, each appliance don't get required amount of voltage because current flows to all appliances equally but the voltage not.

In series combination, if one the appliance in stops working due to some defect then all the appliance will stop working because flow of current will stop.

In series arrangements, each circuit doesn't carry it's own switch but the parallel combination do have.

In series arrangements the current can't be drived in required amount but parallel combination can because of reduced overall resistance.

Thus, for domestic purposes parallel arrangements are used rather thsn seried arrangements.
