why is the size of neon greater than fluorine?

Because repulsion between the different shells of electron thus increase the size so much that it is even bigger than first element in period thats why neon atomic size is grater than fluorine, and it is also because of structural stability of neon.

because it have more electron . flourine has 9 electron whereas neon has 10 electron.The no. of valence electron of flourine is 7 whereas neon is 8 . The proton and neutron in nucleus is more in neon than fluorine
