The sky is blue because:

  • The sun has red and blue lights that are scattered by molecules in air. This process is called Rayleigh Scatter.
  • Light moves in wave lengths, some long and some short.
  • Red, orange and yellow light waves are short so they do not show as much as blue.
  • The molecules scatter the blue light in different directions.
  • The scattered blue light enters our eyes and we see the clear sky to be blue.

It is due to scattering of Light.

Answer :

Gases and particles in Earth's atmosphere scatter sunlight in all directions. Blue light is scattered more than other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.
