Why is the sky blue?

There is a mixture of 7 colours of light in the sky. Since our earth has an atmosphere, atmospheric refraction occurs and most of the red light is scattered and mostly blue light is left which reaches our eyes. Thus the sky looks blue. Hope it helped.
