The reason for sky and water to be seen blue is same:- Blue light has shorter and smaller wave length,so blue light is scattered in all directions. Secondly red, orange yellow light are of longer wave length and are absorbed more strongly by water than blue. That's the reason of sky & water are blue .Hope it helps.

Answer:

The sky is blue due to a phenomenon called Raleigh scattering. This scattering refers to the scattering of electromagnetic radiation (of which light is a form) by particles of a much smaller wavelength. Water actually appears blue due to its absorption of red light.
