Why is the solar cooker box covered with a glass sheet?

Answer:

The sun rays pass through the glass sheet cover and get absorbed inside the cooker box. It traps more and more heat rays of the sun, thus it is helpful in heating the food item.

because the glass sheet increase the heat coming from the sun as soon as the heat passes through the sheet
