Solid state is the most dense state of matter because in solid state intermolecular forces are very strong which does not allow molecules of a solid to move here and there freely and in this way solids have more no of molecules in a unit volume as compared to gas or liquid which shows that solid has maximum density. Hence, solid is the most dense state of matter.
