standard time is more specific and convenient instead of local time as it manages uniformity of time and avoids unwanted chaos.

for example : India has a time gap of 2 hours between Assam and Gujarat. If the people of India choose follow their local time, it would create chaos. suppose you and your friend decided to do a face time at 6 in the evening. You facetime at 6 in your local time and he facetimes in his local time . You would not be able to facetime each other due to the 2 hrs time gap

Answer:

By convention most of today's countries follow a convention that essentially divides the world into 24 designed time zones. representing the 24 hours of a day. ll the clocks within a particular time zone is set to the same time - the standard time - as compared to each clock set to ‘solar time’.

Standard time helps to avoid anomalies such as arriving at your destination ‘before’ you started your trip. Planning events becomes much simpler if everyone agrees to a standard time. Imagine the chaos of a televised event where everybody has their clocks set to a different time. It is confusing enough to have time zone differences.
