Bangladesh standard time(BST) is technically UTC(+6:00). Indian standard time(IST) is usually UTC(+5:30) . ... Bangladesh falls under the UTC+6:00 and they chose to have that as their time zone.

standard time of Bangladesh is time zone it is offset 6 hours ahead of co-ordinate universal and observed as a national standard throughout the country
