Why is the standard time of India one and a half hour ahead of UAE

India is a huge country, and it lies between 2 meridians, to make travel easier between all parts of the country the government chose 5:30 GMT. And India and UAE lie in different meridians so, there is a difference between 1 hr 30 mins.
