Why is the sun a contributing factor in the production of wind energy?

Sun is a contributing factor in the production of wind energy because sun heats the atmosphere of earth unevenly which creates a zone of low pressure and high pressure. As a result of which air from high pressure zone flows to low pressure zone which produces wind. And this wind is used to produce wind energy.
