Why is the sun a very hot body?

In the sun, the hydrogen atoms constantly get converted into helium ions by the process of nuclear fusion. In nuclear fusion, hydrogen atoms combine into helium atom, releasing enormous amount of heat energy. That's why the sun is very hot.
