Hi mate.

Reason :

During the day our star, the Sun, makes our sky so bright that we cannot see the much dimmer stars. At night, when the sky is dark, the light of the stars can be seen.

The most relevant and the most weighted reason for star visibility from earth is the atmosphere. The light from the stars gets scattered so much that the original trajectory of the light gets washed away and therefore, our eyes can't interpret where the light came from, and thus we don't have the source of the light.

Another reason is that the apparent brightness of the sun (due to its proximity to earth) .

More to read :

Sunlight can scatter off of any substance between a light source and a detector, including all parts of your eyeball in front of your retinas, but in the absence of that, it'd still be hard to see the stars. The Sun, and bodies that reflect its light, are just too darn bright compared to their surroundings.

Hope it helps you mate.
