Why is the sunlight bright?

The blue color of the sky is a result of this scattering process. At night, when that part of Earth is facing away from the Sun, space looks black because there is no nearby bright source of light, like the Sun, to be scattered.

Answer:
The sun, an average, middle-aged star, provides the Earth with light, warmth and energy even though it's 150 million kilometers (93 million miles) distant.
What makes the sun so bright is its power source: a process called nuclear fusion, which yields abundant energy.
