Why is the syrup of lemon not stored In iron pot?

The syrup of the lemon should not be stored on the iron plate because iron is a reactive metal if they both come in contact with each other then these components will react with each other finally the juice will not be of use anymore.

The lemon syrup is actually acidic in nature.It contains high amount of citric acid.Which is also the main reason behind the sour taste of the lemon.

And the iron is highly reactive with the acids.It often forms iron oxides by reacting with the acids.

That's why we don't store lemon syrup in the iron pots.
