It’s traditionally celebrated such that the oldest students teach while the teachers sit in the faculty room, eat cake and drink coffee.

If it’s a high school, year 12 students are “teachers”, complete with dressing up as teachers they’ve agreed to represent (it’s a ball when the guys come in skirts and high heels!). If it’s a middle school, year 9 students are teachers.
