In the Himalayas, natural vegetation differs according to the altitude. At the foothills of the Himalayas, tropical decidous forests are found. On higher altitudes between 1500 to 3000 meters, above 3600 meters alpine Vegetation is found while at the highest altitudes, only mosses and lichens are found.  

But temperature does play a role in the growth of natural vegetation in the Himalayas.
