Torrid zone lies between the two tropics that means Tropic of cancer in  northern hemisphere and Tropic of Capricorn in southern hemisphere. Polar region receives the slanting sun rays, but torrid zone receives the vertical sun rays. Slanting rays spread the heat into more area so hotness are largely distributed so their intensity is low, whereas tropical region receive vertical sun rays, heat distributed in less area so intensity of sunlight high in tropics.
