why is the temperature on the equator high?

In the equtor access of sunlight passes through the equator.and those light are direct fall dawn in straight in equator .this may create high temperature.

First of all let's know the structure of earth.
Earth is not a perfect sphere. It is slightly flat at the top and hence it's equator (that is the middle part) is bulky. Due to this, the middle part gets direct rays of sun with more concentration and hence increases the temperature. Whereas, on the poles, the sun rays are slant (due to flat shape) and hence poles are cooler as compared to equator.
