The Tiger as the National Animal of India symbolizes the power, strength, elegance, alertness, intelligence and endurance of the nation. It has been chosen as the National animal due to its grace,strength, agility and enormous power. It is found throughout the country except in the north-western region.

The tiger was chosen as our national animal in 1972. The reason behind this is the tiger which is known for its strength, elegance, intelligence, and power. And it can be found throughout the country except hardly a few states. There are more species are in the tiger but the national tiger belongs ‘Royal Bengal Tiger’. And to increase the tiger species the government implemented the project ‘Project Tiger’ in 1973 and it has resulted in success. And also tiger is considered as Lord of the Jungle.
