Answer: The tip of the sewing needle is very pointed because it can be easily put through the cloth.

This is done to increase the pressure and decrease the area when force is constant

As we had learned that Pressure=Force/Area If force is constant and area is large the pressure will be small.

Tip of sewing needles are pointed to minimize the area.

The top of sewing needle is sharp because due to it's sharp tip, the needle may put the force on a very small area of the cloth due to which the pressure increases on that are and the needle can easily stitch the cloth.
