melting point is tungsten is very high due to which it requires high temperature to melt and fuse out so short circuit is avoided..

Tungsten have the highest melting point and have great tensile strength that is why it is used as filament and not any other metal which can melt by heating effect of the electric current.

sudhanshu13: what is the role of tensile here actually???
Poorva15: I was just telling about its property. The explanation I gave was only about melting point. Sorry for improper use of words.
sudhanshu13: no problem
