The UNO i.e. United Nations Organisation was founded in 1945  after the end of second world war in a international summit and it's main purpose is to ensure peace in the world. There are so many countries present in the world having power and weapons which might lead to world war 3. The world war affected the growth of almost every country which was even remotely connected  to it.

The UNO currently is the most powerful organisation which has the authority to enforce laws over the countries which are producing violence and hate. The questions asks that why can't  the government handle the problems on its own and stop wars right?

Sine their are many countries which are willing to increase their military power as well as nuclear power and if the UNO hadn't been there then the capable countries would have used their  nuclear powers and military strength to overpower other countries and rule over them. Many small countries are there which don't have the proper military strength and capital for  that which would have made them weaker ones in the race. To ensure that these small weak countries  don't get attacked frequently by the powerful nations.

Also the countries like Iraq start their nuclear testing program in 2001 which was stopped by the United Nations and similarly a great loss to life and property was saved. The UNO functions as head of the family which is making sure to keep peace between nations.

This is the importance of United Nations in the current world and it is needed by the countries for their survival and peace.

i hope it helped you and if you still have a query feel free to ask it in comments.

Thank You!!
