(i) AC can be transmitted with much lower energy losses as compared to dc.
(ii) AC voltage can be adjusted (stepped-up or stepped down) as per requirement
(iii) AC current in a circuit can be controlled using (almost) wattless devices like choke coil.
(iv) a.c. is easier to generate

Hey !!
1) The generation of AC is more economical than DC.
2) Alternating voltage can be stepped up or stepped down as per requirement during transmission from power generating station to the consumer.
3) Alternating current in a circuit can be controlled by using wattless devices like the choke coil.
Good luck !!
