Why is the use of cng preferred to the use of petrol or diesel?

CNG is preferred because it is a fuel which causes less pollution and burns without smoke. Petrol is an exhaustible resource which cannot be found later on but CNG is eco friendly and also inexhaustible.

CNG or Compressed Natural Gas is the best alternative to petroleum, diesel or other fuels because of the following reasons.

1. Natural gas is environmentally friendly because it burns cleaner than other fossil fuels.

2. It's safe.

3. Easier to store when compared to other fossil fuels.

4. Natural gas is extremely reliable.

5. Natural gas is less expensive than other fossil fuels.

6. CNG has an octane rating of 127 and has a slight efficiency advantage over petrol.

7. Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) release a considerably lower amount of toxic emissions than gasoline vehicles.

Interesting fact: Many incentives are being offered for those who purchase NGVs or install CNG kits in their current vehicles. Incentives differ from state to state, as well as county and region.  Some of the perks include: Carpool stickers, insurance discounts, tax credits on CNG and stipends for home refueling kits. In addition, some companies are offering employees stipends for purchasing NGVs.
