We know that any non-zero number divided by itself equals 1.
I will explain you this by giving example, see
2/2 = 1
Now you can also write this as :-)
2^1 / 2^1 = 1
Now , by exponent rule (a^m/a^n = a ^m-n) it can be expressed as
2 ^1-1 = 2^0 = 1
I think now u get this better.
If not let me explain once more ,
See dear u can write 2^0 = 2^1-1 = 2^1 / 2^1 = 2/2 =1 .
