why is the velocity in x direction becomes zero when a projectile hits an inclined perpendicularly ...... Please help

There is difference in between Projectile motion nd simple linear motion.

In a projectile motion the body is considered to be in free fall condition that means its speed or velocity does not change in X direction. The object moves with constant velocity in horizontal direction. While in vertical direction acceleration due to gravity constantly act on the object. First reducing its velocity during upward motion and then ncreasing its velocity during downward motion.

So, when the object touches the ground its projectile motion stops there and linear motion starts therefore with respect to projectile motion its velocity in horizontal direction reduced to Zero.

because inclined plane will exert the impulse in the opposite direction of velocity so velocity becomes zero at that instant.....
