why is the western coastal plains devoid of any deltas ?

1. Due to rugged topography
2. The rivers have large lakes in their course
3. They have no large tributaries
4. They do not carry a large amount of sediment.

because on the western coastal plains there no any big rivers flowing ,only small rivers flow towrds west. Only two big rivers flow towards western parts ie narmada and tapi. so deltas are formed by rivers which is not present in the western coastal parts ....only small rivers are present
