Due to the absence of rain and vegetation desert has loose fine soil Hence, wind takes away these loose particles and causes erosion. As in desert area there is sand which is light in weight so , wind can easily erode the sand and is known as Sand Erosion.

Answer:

Explanation:

Winds (moving pockets of air) do cause erosion.

These pockets of air slogged the finer grit sand and deposit the grit in other places like rivers and the ocean.

The winds act like a pneumatic scouring agent and as a consequence the top layer of fine soil is dislodged and migrates to undesirable locations.

Well watered soil have a gravitational resistance to the wind ,but soil in arid lands are subjected to this (naturally) occurring intrusion.

Hope it helps !
