The year 1921 considered as a great demographic divide in india.

1) Since 1921, population has been increasing at a rapid rate. This increase was higher than that of the previous 30 years. The trend of growth of population in India since 1921 has been consistently on the rise. That is why Census Commissioner has referred to the year 1921 as 'Year of Great Divide'

2) In the year of 1921, there was more number of deaths due to the starvation deaths of people in India. The domination of English people(Britishers) led for the death of people in India,Drought conditions and poverty made the people to die

3) Before 1921, both birth rate and death rate were high in fact in 1921 death rate was little more than birth rate

4) after 1921 the population has increased rapidly because of no family planning , high fertility rate ,low literacy and no advanced medical treatment. This is why 1921 is called as the "YEAR OF GREAT DIVIDE"
