Why is there a need to sedregate the biodegradable waste and non biodegradable waste

There is a need to segregate biodegradable and non biodegradable waste as biodegradable waste are pollution free and do not cause any pollution when left untreated but non biodegradable wastes need to be treated or recycled so that they do not causes pollution

Biodegradable material contains food waste like vegetable and fruit peels, dead plants and animals, egg shells, chicken, garden waste paper materials, etc.
