Why is there a seasonal reversal of wind direction in the Indian subcontinent

The Indian subcontinent experiences seasonal reversal of wind because in winter there is a high pressure area in north of the Himalayas &  a low pressure area over the ocean in  the south. This leads to  a complete reversal of the direction of wind during summer and rise of Southwest monsoon.
