Why is there a struggle for equality in India even after getting Independence and

having rights?

I guess Equality still doesn't exist in India after Independence.

For eg: All the scheduled castes get certain amenities that the general castes don't get.Like when writing a public exams cut offs are very low for scheduled castes and also thet get reserved seats in colleges and also the parliament.When the skillful people in the general castes get stomped down.
