Why is there an overwhelming support to democracy all over the world.explain one reason

Democratic govt is preffered for the following reasons-
1.power in the hands of people.no single person rules the country
2.citizens participate in all the matters and hence feel unified for the nation
3.people are directly responsible for the social,cultural and economically condition of the country along with the elected representatives which gives them equal say in the decisions

hence the democracy is by the people,for the people,of the people

Democracy is a form of govt. wherein people govern the country through political parties or u can say their representative

Democratic govt. is preferred by everyone because : 

1. Democracy gives privileges to people to make their own choice , it reduces discrimination. A democratic govt. not only look after majority but also after minority due to this social conflicts are less.

For eg : In Belgium , due to its ethnic composition of Dutch and French people there were chances of civil war but it was prevented because Belgian govt. amended its constitution 4 times and adopted democracy.
On the contrary , in Sri Lanka , the Sinhalese's formed a govt due to their majority and excluded the tamils complete which led to civil war.

So , this proves that democracy reduces social conflicts.
