Explanation:
Step farming or terrace farming is common in hills to check soil erosion through water current on the slopes. Terrace farming is most common in hills as it provides a physical barrier to soil erosion by water. The mountain is made into steps which slows down the speed of rain water preventing damage to crops

===>
there is need of step farmimg❤
hilly areas are not flat. they have slopes or u can say inclinations so we cannot do normal farming there. thus we practise step farming to overcome the sloppy area
==> and so that irrigational water does not flow towards slope and water logging doesnt takes place
mark as brainliest ✌✌✌
