why is there no 2d or 3f orbitals..... ?

In the first shell , there is the 1s orbital as this shell can have maximum of only 2 electrons. Therefore the 1p orbital doesn't exist. In the second shell , both 2s and 2p orbital exit as it can have a maximum of 8 electrons .
Therefore the 3f orbital do not exist.

As we know , in third orbit only s , p and d sub - orbit exists.

So 3f doesn't exist and no. of electron are zero..
