The rectangular slab doesn't act as prism or water molecules which disperses light due to it's higher refractive index
if i am correct i hope glasses have same refractive index

then how come u can say prism and rectangular slab has varying indices
prism has inclined surface but slab does not provide such consequences thus it may be reason
i think the answer is that the prism has a peculiar shape which helps in the dispersion

HENCE NEWTON S LAW OF DISPERSION OF LIGHT IN TWO PRISMS THE SCATTERING OF LIGHT BY PRISM IS REVERSED OR NULLIFIED BY THE SECOND PRISM
HENCE NO SPLITTING OF LIGHT TAKES PLACE.
