Answer:
Well , we know in India there is a democratic form of government
So, the reasons are :-
1. If there is no active political participation by the parties , and are happy by their political power then in the next term , the citizens would not elect them and their chances of loosing will decrease simultaneously.
2. If the political parties do not act according to the wishes of the citizen then the lok Sabha members can pass a no confidence bill on them , because of which they will no longer remain in power .
3. poor political participation can lead to great difficulty in taking Major policy decisions. This can lead to rashes and irresponsible mistakes .
4. Poor political participation also leads to irregular economic growth , and so this can set back a great difficulty on the people .
5. But in India , due to democracy the constitution give certain laws and also limits the government by its citizens rights . And so it important in India , that there is a popular participation of Political parties .

Answer:
The political parties are facing a crisis because they are very unpopular and the citizens are indifferent to them. The belief of popular participation is only partly true for India. Political parties do not enjoy much trust among the people in South Asia. In fact they are one of the least trusted institutions all over the world.
Yet the level of participation is higher in India than Canada, Japan, Spain and South Korea over the last decades, the proportion of those who report to be members of political parties in India, has gone up. The proportion of these who say that they feel ‘Close to a political party has also gone up in India.’
