Everything arround us is filled up.And nothing is empty in the Universe.U take the air,it seems to b nothing but is a deadly mixture of gases.
You take ur dark room there will be nothing to be seen but full of dark matters.So take the Cosmos and every inch is filled up with something.That may be dark matter, higgs bosson or something else.Even if a place becomes empty there are alot i n the universe to fill it up.It's the rule, the thing of nature.
