Why is tRNA called an adapter?

Hello Good question

The tRNA molecule is called an adapter because at one hand it reads the genetic code through its anticodon and one other hand it binds to the specific amino acid throught its 3 end.It transfers amino acids to ribosomes for synthesis of polypeptides.
