Tungsten has a melting point. Tungsten in bulbs is supplied with a lot of electricity which heats it up. But since its melting temperature is high it illuminates with a bright glow. Fuse wires are a protective component in a circuit which breaks the circuit when the heat generated by the electricity is dangerously high. Here we need a metal that has a fairly low melting point
