Why is tungsten metal used in bulbs,but not in fuse wires?

It is because tungsten has high melting point . If it is used in fuse wires , Then it will not melt Even when large amount of current is passed through it

tungsten has high melting point, it can bear high heat for glowing.

but in fuse wire,the wire will not melt when a large amount of current is passed through it, but the appliance will get damaged.
