Tungsten is suitable for making the filament of a bulb because it has very high melting point and it does not undergo oxidation easily.

Nichrome also has a high melting point but still not used for making bulbs because it's melting is lower than that of tungsten. Therefore in order to get best quality, tungsten is used.

deepak050: but why we not use nichrome, nichrome is also not oxide at very high temperature
YasminGautam: wait..
deepak050: thanks
YasminGautam: anytime..❤️
deepak050: .?
YasminGautam: oho...i said ready to help anyone anytime...
deepak050: ooo, nice

Welcome to the World of Current And Electricity..

Becoz of its property of being melted. The resistance of filament should be high so that it can produce heat and light and its melting point should also be high so that it does not melt at the high temperature at which it is producing light.
