why is tungsten used exclusively for filament of electric lamps which effect of current is used here

because tungsten has a low specific heat capacity and so during high flow of current it melts and prevent shock

Tungsten is used in filaments of bulbs because, it has very high melting point,

so, it gives light without melting.
