Why is uniform circular motion called accelerated motion?

because in this motion velocity is changing because there is a change in direction so it is called accelerated motion

accelerating objects r changing in velocity either the speed that is magnitude of velocity vectors or the direction ,an object undergoing uniform circular motion is moving with constant speed .none the less ,it is acceleration due to its changing in direction
