Large number of people are found to be illiterate in India this is the main reason why there are more people working in unorganised sector . Organised sector consists of well-educated people therefore the main reason for number of people more in unorganised sector is their illiteracy.

Employement opportunities in organised sector have been expanding very slowly .. Thus people from organised sector turned towards un-organised sector. Gradually a large no of people are working in unorganised sector .

Thus the contributions made by the unorganised sector to the national income, is very substantial as compared to that of the organised sector. It adds more than 60% to the national income while the contribution of the organised sector is almost half of that depending on the industry. (apart from its disadvantages..)
