VASOPRESSIN is a man-made form of anti-diuretic hormone {ADH}.

1. it acts on the nephrons in kidneys to promote water reabsorption. due to this it prevents water loss and concentrates the urine. this process is called antidiuresis.

2. it increases the permeability of inner medullary region of the collecting duct towards urea, so more and more urea can be filtered out from the blood.
